If I knew then what I know now…..famous words right? I once heard that hindsight is twenty-twenty, and well, it’s true. I followed that creature, and I call it that because I would later find out that is exactly what they were, into that bloody warehouse. I expected the warehouse to be dimly lit, with a small circle of people sitting in chairs studying leaflets. What I didn’t expect was the brightly illuminated single room, which happened to be the size of a ballroom. I also didn’t find any chairs, or other people, or even a tiny leaflet. In the center of the room was a strange egg shaped apparatus, and a tank that looked like an oversized aquarium. The egg shaped chamber had a small door that was approximately six feet tall, and had a red airlock dial on its front. The aquarium was attached to this giant cobalt colored egg by two wires that were orange and violet. The entire machine sat amidst a plush yellow carpet and was bathed in blinding white halogen light. I stared at this machine and knew that at some point I would have to make a choice. Would I get in the egg and be reborn? Would I decline the chance to be something more? I’ll be honest, at that moment I felt as if I were edging on the brink of madness. Nema moved up next to me after he latched the door, and put his hand on my shoulder. I almost screamed. I didn’t turn to look at him; my gaze was focused on the machine.
“Beautiful isn’t it? Almost fitting in a way…..an egg for rebirth, shall we?” Nema stepped forward and motioned me forward with a wave of his hand. As we both moved toward the egg I heard a loud thump, thump, thump of a purposeful stride and when the other being came from the other side of the giant aquarium I nearly melted with lust.
The female that now stood in front of the egg was six foot even, the average height for most super models. Her eyes were the most stunning violet I have ever seen on a human. The dark circles of makeup around her eyes were a deep charcoal color and in contrast to her ivory white skin it made her eyes seem almost entrancing. Her succulent lips were covered in a emerald green lipstick which made her curved smile that much more mischievous. Her slender porcelain body was covered by a very tightly woven outfit that looked like a fisherman’s net. When she shifted to the left it was a silver color and when she switched her stance to the right it turned gold. Her legs were bare, as were her feet. The nails on both her feet were the same color as her lipstick and were immaculately manicured. The old phrase about nails came to mind, you know the one that states: “If a woman takes that much time to make sure her toenails are immaculate….imagine how much time she takes to maintain other more….euphoric parts of her body. I smiled lightly and noticed that I had been drooling.
